Recently while looking for some book reviewers I met Morgan Amos on Instagram. Morgan is a very inspiring personality full of positivity. Born with Cerebral Palsy she is no less achiever than anyone else. I requested her to share her story on my blog to motivate and uplift other women and she readily agreed. Read her heart-touching story in her own words.
How My Faith Has Helped Me To Accept My Disability
Hebrews 11:6 is my favorite scripture in the bible. It talks about the importance of having faith in Jesus and yourself. My faith and relationship with Jesus are vital to me. As a person with a disability, I’ve had to work hard to prove to myself and others that I am capable of achieving what I want out of life. My faith and my family’s support has given me the strength and courage to pursue my dreams.
My journey has been an interesting one. I was born with Cerebral Palsy, and as a result, my lower extremities are affected. I use a wheelchair to maneuver around, but I am also able to use a walker. Given my physical limitations, I made it a point to enhance other areas of my life so that people wouldn’t focus on what I couldn’t do but rather what I could.
Obtaining an education was instilled in me from an early age, so I knew that this was something I could devote my time to and flourish rather than focusing entirely on how my disability was limiting me. I gave it everything I had when it came to school. Straight As in grammar school and I graduated Co-Salutatorian in high school. College was no different. I graduated with my bachelor’s and masters in journalism.
From there, I began a freelance writing career, and I have been doing this for approximately nine years now. I’ve worked for online magazines, published a book, ghostwrote, conducted book reviews, and did some editing. I’ve appreciated every opportunity I have had. My goal is to continue to do the work that I love while also helping those who feel they have a story to tell be able to tell it. This is why I started Morgan Lee Reviews.
Morgan Lee Reviews is a site dedicated to timely and quality book reviews, interviews, and ghostwriting services. By creating my website and showcasing the work that I do, I hope to help people with the services I provide. I welcome all questions and comments. I didn’t have that coming up in this business. I had to figure things out as I went along, and if I can give back by helping someone interested in the ins and outs of writing, and doesn’t know where to start, I am willing to do that.
When I am not working, I like to spend time with my family and read as many books as possible, one of which includes the YouVersion Bible app. I am into fiction and nonfiction books and am a sucker for paperbacks. I have a couple of books in the works that I am personally working on and have taken an interest in cooking and trying new foods. I am also into action and thriller and suspenseful movies.
I try to enjoy life as best I can, and I am thankful for my family, friends, and opportunities like this, where I can let others into my world know a little more about me and the work that I do. So, I want to give a huge thank you to Deeksha Tripathi for this wonderful opportunity to share my story with you all.
If anyone would like to connect, I am available on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram. You can also reach me by email at [email protected]
Morgon is so beautiful and there is an aura of serenity around her! She is really inspiring, she focused on what she can do and excel at rather than what she can not. Thanks Deeksha for sharing her story.
Being a pediatric neurologist, I am well aware of the problems one has to face with cerebral palsy. I salute to your confidence, discipline and commitment – You really deserve what you have achieved so far. You are, indeed, a great inspiration for other women.
