Natasha Noel is a native of Mumbai, India. She has set an example of how to handle the challenges in life no matter how difficult they are. Her life before she became a yoga guru was full of struggles. At the young of 3, Natasha saw her mother committing suicide by setting herself on fire in front of her. At first, she blamed herself for her mother’s death. She felt that she could have saved her life but she didn’t.
” I can still see my mother’s burning face and her screams which keep me awake on most nights.”- Natasha Noel
When Natasha was just a child, she had one of the worst experiences of her life. At 7, she was raped by a male servant.
His mother asked her to run away with him and get married to him as nobody else would ever love her and accept her in life! Unbelievable isn’t it? This is the age at which a little girl plays with her dolls and soft toys. Her sufferings didn’t stop here. Till the age of 15, she was molested and abused by her uncles and cousins. Any girl in her place would have shattered to pieces. Even Natasha felt deeply traumatized. In her words,
“When we go through something very difficult, we feel the world is against us. I was so disgusted that I didn’t even want to look in the mirror. It became difficult for me to accept the love from people who mean it in the real sense.” – Natasha Noel
By the age of 17, Natasha Noel found her love for dancing. But she was tested once again. When she was in the second year of her college, she had a major fall and despite doctor’s advice of a week’s rest Natasha went dancing. At that time she desired much more to do and to achieve. But she tore her meniscus and corneal muscles and had liquid in her knee and had knee cap tears as well. So she had to quit dancing, a passion that she loved so much! But even this set back couldn’t break Natasha. She wanted to live and prove herself. She finally decided to heal herself from all the pain. So she started to do yoga on a daily basis. Since the age of 15, Natasha had gained a lot of weight. So to improve herself she gave up junk food and started eating healthy along with regular yoga.
Her journey to be a Yoga Guru has been a long one. She diligently started learning yoga. She bought yoga books, watched videos and finally got a certificate as a Yoga Guru after being professionally trained in it. Today she not only practices difficult yoga moves but also teaches dance yoga to people. Natasha is now full of positive vibes which she constantly shares through her videos with her thousands of followers on social media.
Natasha Noel advises all women who have been through similar tough situations as were hers, to be open about it and don’t care what people may think or say about you. You better know what you want and what you want to do. Don’t think about society before doing anything. It is you who have to take care of yourself and love yourself before you expect others to care for you or love you. You can get online therapy from a professional if you feel like it. Don’t feel shy about taking care of yourself. Natasha is a really one of the boldest women of our generation. She never let her life’s challenges overpower her and knock her down. She always maintained her balance of mind and stayed positive. Every time faced her hardships with more determination and courage. Her desire to live life fully has made her extraordinary. Keep rocking girl!
