Financial independence is one of the things which most of the women aspire for as it gives them the power of living their life on their own terms. It is something which empowers women and makes them feel free. Recently I met a blogger Marie Oliver on Facebook who blogs about all-around wellness of women. Marie is also a former Fortune 500 consultant. She teaches people through her website how to fully embrace holistic wellness to live a life of wholeness and abundance. Here is a guest post by her on how financial empowerment can help women in living a complete life.
Wellness Through Financial Empowerment
My name is Marie Oliver and I blog at affablewellness.com. I started my blog to inspire and encourage people who have a vision and mission to live and become their best selves. I also wanted to show people who may be in a dark place that they can become motivated and change the trajectory of their paths!
I love it when I hear other women talk about how they are on a mission to serve the women who do not have the opportunity to give their best to the world.
As Sarah Blakley so greatly puts it, “I pledge to invest in women because I believe it offers one of the greatest returns on investment. I am committed to the belief that we would all be in a much better place if half the human race (women) were empowered to prosper, invent, be educated, start their own businesses, run for office essentially be given the chance to soar.” – Sara Blakely.
I’m always hopeful and grateful when I hear about all the wonderful projects, foundations, and charities that are helping individuals in countries that are stricken with harsh government conditions, disease, poverty, violence, and war.
So, if anybody is or has experienced this hold your head up and know that times always have to change for the better. I believe that those who have the resources to help, have a duty to give back.
I’ve learned personally that the only way I can protect myself and my family in life is with my faith first and foremost, and then with Financial Independence. I grew up with a submissive culture to a wedding and have a husband and family. The thing about this though, is that this doesn’t guarantee a healthy and happy life. When you have Financial Independence, you do not have to go unheard when it comes to unfair treatment, abuse, deception or any other factor that is toxic to a relationship.
Financial Independence and retirement are defined differently depending on who you are talking to. I love that there is a push for Financial Independence and Financial Empowerment nowadays. I wrote a post that talks about this very topic, 10 Podcasts to Listen to Daily. I believe Financial Independence and Financial Empowerment are the foundations for women everywhere to show how wonderful they truly can be. Relationships are essential also, but nobody gets a free ride, we all have to make it on our own even if we have some help from family. All of us women have to create our own paths and choose to soar in our own destinies.
Financial Stress has been nearly impossible to get away from.
As, Robert Kiyosaki states, “The main reason people struggle financially is that they have spent years in school but learned nothing about money. The result is that people learn to work for money…but never learn to have money work for them.” -Robert Kiyosaki
I can relate to this very much, I talk about this here. Financial Stress is defined as: “A condition that is the result of financial and/or economic events that create anxiety, worry, or a sense of scarcity, and is accompanied by a physiological stress response.” (http://www.financialhealthinstitute.com)
How will you conquer Financial Stress and become Financially Independent?
Think about your story, do you have the resources and knowledge for Financial Empowerment to be present and thriving in your life? Are you accomplishing your goals? Are you soaring and living out your destiny?
My hope and aspiration is to lead by example and give insight into what is possible in Wellness for people, especially women, so they will have the foundation to realize their paths to greatness and positive attribution to the world.
I absolutely agree Financial independence is a way to Wellness. I think it is important for both men and women but I understand why especially for women. My husband and I are constantly teaching our daughter that she needs to be financially independent and that she never has to depend on anyone. Thank you for your post. Raheela
